We all gathered around to watch the lunar eclipse last Wednesday: we had a spectacular view from our balcony, but we didn't get a single decent picture of it, because I had been procrastinating on buying a tripod. We took several pictures with a 300mm telephoto lens, but at that size and at night, all our photos are blurry.
So I ordered a tripod Thursday.
It arrived today, but a week too late. The next lunar eclipse is not for quite some time. But now we have that tripod, so I guess we're ahead.

The Monty Python allusion made me smile. How long do we have to wait to see your pictures of the next eclipse?
Yeah we missed the eclipse here - it was overcast. Powerless rage filled me.
I want a tripod too.
Yeah I wasn't sure anyone would catch that one.
I think the next lunar eclipse is in 2010, n'est-ce pas?
Well, I must confess, I have been wondering what the heck that title meant.
Ox, I think you should post some of the pics you and the girls took. They were trippy.
I was working that night, and couldn't see a thing through the clouds. The whole flight of passengers and crew came pouring off the aircraft to rave about it when they arrived. Next time I think I'll schedule a flight -- that would be a great view.
