Happy September 1!

Just a quick post to acknowledge the start of the Ber Months! My favourite months start now: September, October, November, December. September 1 is always an exciting day for me. One of my favourite days, truth be told.

So happy September, everyone!

And, this year the Ber months will actually be chilly for us. We can wear sweaters and jackets in September now.

Happy Ber to ya.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the lone Pacific Northwest weirdo that would gladly dispose of this heat and sunshine nonsense for some rain and cold. We have so many Californians living here these days that an indigenous person can feel like a fish out of water.

Here's to cooking meat with fire and smoke long into the colder months of the year!

Kingjaymz, Ox and I have been loving all the anti-California comments we have heard. (not just from you) It reminds me of the South and it's hatred of Yankees.

I was just saying to a fellow Pacific Northwestern "native" buddy this last weekend, "This must be how the Native Americans felt when the colonizers started arriving. Who are these a**holes and why are they clearing out our beautiful, sacred lands for development?" The more of it I see, the more I am convinced that the land of Earth is sacred (at least in Oregon and Washington) and shouldn't be sold off en mass without restriction as it has over the last 20 years.

I don't hate Californians, but I do feel a level of resentment over what their mass migration has done to my homeland. It used to be so rural and quiet and even more beautiful than it is now.

I could go on, but I won't.
